Cerebral palsy characterized with onset in infancy or early childhood and characterized by MUSCLE SPASTICITY in the legs. The arm muscles are usually not affected. It is caused by damage to the brain area that controls movement due to genetic abnormalities, brain malformations, prenatal trauma, or infection.
