The specificity of type I secretions systems are determined by the specificity of the three subcomponents forming the channel - an ATP transporter (ATP-BINDING CASSETTE TRANSPORTERS); a membrane fusion protein (MEMBRANE FUSION PROTEINS); and an outer membrane protein (BACTERIAL OUTER MEMBRANE PROTEINS.)
