whereby an occlusion or stenosis of the proximal
SUBCLAVIAN ARTERY
causes a reversal of the blood flow away from the
CORONARY CIRCULATION
, through the grafted
INTERNAL MAMMARY ARTERY
(internal thoracic artery), and back to the distal subclavian distribution.
